These are sure to please and are pleasing because they are so easy!  All you need are normal pantry baking items, cheddar cheese(s) and a package of Halladay’s Cheddar Ale Dip mix, which is coincidentally available at Gifts To Go.

Here goes for instructions:  Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine:

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 TBSP baking powder
  • 1 TBSP sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 4 TBSP Halladay’s Cheddar Ale Dip mix (little over half the package, but don’t worry the packages are resealable)

Using a mixer, blend in 3/4 cup butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in:

  • 1/2 cup shredded extra-sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese

Make an indentation in the flour mixture and add 1 cup milk all at once. Using a fork, stir just until the mixture is moist.

Roll the dough onto a lightly floured surface.  Knead gently until dough holds together. Cut dough into 2 1/2 inch rounds that are about 3/4 inch thick.  Place on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 10-14 minutes or until golden brown.  Makes 12 biscuits.  Yum.
